Kjære foresatte, kjære medborgere.
Vi er alle berørt av hendelsen i går. Nå må vi leve med en brannskade midt i bygda en stund. Det minner oss om hvor raskt livet kan snu, og hvor sårbare vi mennesker egentlig er. Samfunnet i Loppa har stått sammen, og alle har hjulpet hverandre for å takle den skremmende situasjonen. Plutselig møtes barnehagen og sykehjemmet på skolen! Det var utrolig bra!
Likevel er det viktig at vi tar oss tid til å reflektere over opplevelsen for å forhindre at det etterlater negative følelser i oss. Det gjelder for oss voksne, men enda mer for barn, som kan ha utfordringer med å uttrykke sine bekymringer og forstå hva som forgår. Det er viktig at alle får informasjon og et sted å dele erfaringer.
Kommunen og nødetatene inviterer dere, og spesielt deres barn, til å møte på samfunnshuset i Øksfjord fredag 27.03.2026 kl. 11-13. Den første timen vil barna få ordet, mens de voksne står i bakgrunnen og lytter. Etterpå vil de voksne få anledning til å diskutere hendelsen, mens vi serverer litt lunsj til barn og unge.

Dear parents, dear fellow citizens.
We are all affected by yesterday's incident. Now we have to live with a fire in the middle of the village for a while. It reminds us of how quickly life can change, and how vulnerable we humans really are. The community in Loppa has stood together, and everyone has helped each other to cope with the frightening situation. The kindergarten and the nursing home met at the school! It was incredibly good!
Nevertheless, it is important that we take the time to reflect on the experience to prevent it from leaving negative feelings in us. This applies to us adults, but even more so to children, who may have challenges expressing their concerns and understanding what is happening. It is important that everyone receives information and a place to share experiences.
The municipality and the emergency services invite you, and especially your children, to meet at the community center in Øksfjord on Friday, March 27, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The first hour the children will have the opportunity to ask questions, while the adults will stand in the background and listen. Afterwards the adults will have the opportunity to discuss the incident, while we serve some lunch to the children and young people. I hope to see you!
